System Requirements, Version 3.0
Entrypoint is installed as two components: the server (which includes the Entrypoint Administrator) and the client (which includes the Entrypoint Data Entry Workstation and Application Developer). The charts below include the machine requirements for both client and server components.
Entrypoint 3.0 requires a compatible database for data storage. The software comes with scripts for creating a database on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or better and MSDE. Note: The database must be created and configured before installing the server. Java 6.0 or higher is also required.
Entrypoint communicates over TCP/IP, so a compatible network is also required (100Mbit Ethernet is recommended).
Entrypoint is a high performance, multi-threaded set of applications. Users will see significant performance gains on machines that have multiple processors and/or hyper-threading, especially when combined with 2GB or more of RAM. Machines running the Entrypoint Server will gain the greatest benefit from this.

Other Requirements
Read/Write/Execute Permissions
Each user must have full read, write and execute permissions for the directory where Entrypoint is installed. This directory is usually "C:\Program Files\Entrypoint Client". Users need full permissions for Entrypoint sub-directories as well.
Windows Monitor
A monitor capable of displaying True Color (24 or 32 bit) at a resolution of 1024x768 is recommended.
Windows DPI Setting
The Windows DPI setting must be 96 DPI, the normal setting for each user. To verify, right-click the Desktop and select Properties. In the Display Properties dialog box select the Settings tab; then select Advanced.
