Remote Data Entry
Much of information collected from subjects in clinical trials—especially from those using remote sites—is on paper forms, entered later into a computer system as a second step. This double-entry process not only takes more time, but adds the risk of transcription errors.
Collecting data electronically for multi-site trials is feasible only if the software system permits remote data entry. Entering data directly into a database via electronic case report forms eliminates the paper step, and significantly reduces the chances for errors. Remote data entry is fast becoming a critical feature of clinical trial software as more data is being collected electronically at clinical sites.
Entrypoint's client-server architecture makes it possible to enter data locally or remotely. Data is stored in a central location, and the system can be configured so that users can enter information from multiple remote and local sites. If some trial sites do not have access to the network, Entrypoint Plus has a tool that easily downloads the data to files, which it then uploads to the central database.
Storing data in a central location also means that up-to-the-minute data is always available for your review, and for export to SAS and other analytic systems.
